The official opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel was held today.

The special correspondent of APA sent to Israel reports that the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Israel, parliamentarians of both countries, public and art representatives took part in the event.

The ceremony started with the national anthems of both countries.

Speaking at the event, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about various directions of Azerbaijan-Israel cooperation.

The minister noted that he is sure that the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Israel will become more active after the opening of the embassy.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen stressed that the opening of the embassy during the 30-year cooperation indicates the depth of strategic relations.

Calling Azerbaijan a strategic partner of Israel, the minister said that the two countries cooperate closely in various fields.

Then the ministers presented the plaque with the name of the embassy.

The ceremony continued with a concert program of Azerbaijani artists.

It should be noted that at the end of last year, the Milli Majlis adopted the draft law on the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the State of Israel (Tel Aviv).

Later, President Ilham Aliyev approved the law "On the Establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the State of Israel (Tel Aviv)".

Mukhtar Mammadov was appointed as Azerbaijan's ambassador to Israel.

He presented his credentials to the President of Israel.
