Finland's accession to NATO will increase the possibility of escalation and the risk of a direct armed conflict between the alliance and Russia.

APA informs that Dora Duro, the vice-speaker of the Hungarian parliament, gave a speech.

"If Finland joins NATO, the dividing line between the North Atlantic Alliance and Russia will increase by 1,340 km.

This will increase the possibility of escalation, as well as the risk of a direct armed conflict between a NATO member state and Russia," said Durodan.

He noted that NATO is currently used as a defense of American hegemony in the world.

It was the United States that forced other members of the alliance to agree to the expansion of the organization.

At the same time, Sweden and Finland have traditionally been independent and have maintained their neutrality in the international arena for 200 years.
