The clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate must leave the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, or squeeze the "Russian peace" out of themselves.

This was announced by the priest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Heorhiy Kovalenko on the "1+1" broadcast during the All-Ukrainian telethon.

"No one - neither the Ukrainian state, nor the Ukrainian society, nor the Ukrainian churches are interested in the fact that prayer should stop there. The prayer in the Lavra has been heard, and will be heard," the OCU priest emphasized.

As Kovalenko noted, there are "not only and not so many monks" in the Lavra.

"Monks are a minority. The Lavra is the center of management of the Moscow Patriarchate. Organizational structures, management structures of the Moscow Patriarchate. I think that there are two ways - when physically the bearers of the ideology of the "Russian peace" leave the territory, or the people in the territory, including the monks, themselves the Moscow Patriarchate squeezes itself out from the middle. Then the monks and people remain, and the Moscow Patriarchate leaves. There are two ways - either external or internal," he said.
