This Wednesday, in Havana, the Union of Young Communists awarded recognitions and decorations to more than 60 militants and representatives of prominent groups, during an act that was attended by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC and president of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel.

The awards given were the Julio Antonio Mella Order, the highest distinction awarded by the UJC, the Abel Santamaría Cuadrado and José Antonio Echeverría Medals, and the Flag of Honor.

The act of this Wednesday precedes the celebrations for April 4, when the 61st anniversaries of the UJC and the 62nd of the José Martí Pioneers Organization are fulfilled.

The act was also attended by members of the Political Bureau of the PCC Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization;

Ulises Guilarte de Nascimiento, Secretary General of the Cuban Workers Federation, and Teresa Amarrelle Boué, Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women.
