Bulgaria

will not participate in the joint procurement plan agreed by a number of EU member states to supply Ukraine with 155-millimeter ammunition, as the Bulgarian army does not have such ammunition and does not use it.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Bulgaria, Dimitar Stoyanov, writes Europe press.

"This million ammunition must come from some reserves. We do not have such ammunition in the Bulgarian army, so there is no possibility that they will be provided to Ukraine for the simple reason that we do not have such a caliber," the minister explained.

It will be recalled that earlier the mass media wrote that

Bulgaria is likely to sell a large amount of ammunition to Ukraine through intermediaries.

The day before, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, emphasized that

the European Union must give priority to the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine from European defense funds.

This will help to speed up the solution to the problem with the shortage of shells.
