The Varna District Court approved an agreement reached between the prosecutor's office and 24-year-old Dimitar D., who pleaded guilty to possession of high-risk narcotics with the purpose of distribution and money laundering, the court's press service reported.
The defendant was born in Targovishte, lives and studies at a university in Varna and has a clean criminal record.
For the distribution of drugs, the student agreed to be sentenced to 2 years of "imprisonment", the serving of which is suspended with a probationary period of 5 years and a fine of BGN 5,000.
For money laundering, the sanction imposed is 2 years in prison, with the man having to suffer the worse of the two.
A court-approved settlement has the effect of an entered judgment and is final.

At the end of February, a little over 1 kilogram of marijuana, methamphetamine weighing 0.83 grams and a small amount of cocaine were found in the man's possession.
Separately, 1,800 BGN were found in his possession, which the 24-year-old knew were acquired through a serious intentional crime.
