[Reporter Wu Shuwei/Taipei Report] The baboons fled Taoyuan City for 18 days, and were shot dead by shotguns during the roundup yesterday evening. However, the Taoyuan City Government and the Hsinchu County Government both denied that they had entrusted hunters; Said that it is deeply concerned about the case and has applied for an automatic investigation.

Three supervisory committee members said that it was reported that an East African baboon escaped and disappeared in the southern district of Taoyuan City. The Taoyuan City Government launched a roundup operation. After the baboon broke into a house, it was shot dead by a hunter.

The hunter claimed to be a legal hunter of the Hsinchu Forest District Management Office of the Forestry Bureau of the Council of Agriculture. After receiving an inquiry from the Agriculture Office of the Hsinchu County Government whether he could join the roundup, he joined the hunt on his own.
