Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War emphasize that the troops

of the Russian Federation

 achieved minor successes in the north and south-west of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

Also, the occupiers continued their attacks in the city and its surroundings.

This is reported in a recent ISW report.

Geolocation videos released on March 24 and 26 show the Russians likely advancing through several streets in northwestern Bakhmut.

According to the Russian media, the fighters of the "Wagner" group advanced within the AZOM complex in the north of Bakhmut.

In the footage with geolocation from March 27, it can be seen how the head of "Wagner" Evgeny Prigozhin visits school No. 5 near the center.

Also, Russian bloggers claimed that on March 26, PKK militants reached the railway line in the north of Bakhmut and continued their offensive within the urban areas in the north and south-west of the city.

RF troops also conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Avdiyivka region and on the southwestern outskirts of Donetsk near Maryinka.

Russian sources also claimed that on March 26, the occupiers moved to the northern outskirts of Maryinka and continued fighting for the settlement, and advanced north of Novomykhailivka, about 10 km south of Avdiivka.

Battles for Bakhmut

Bakhmut remains the hottest point on the front

.

The fighting does not stop, but the situation is under the control of the Armed Forces.

Russia invests a lot of resources in the surroundings of the city.

The commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, says that 

the invaders are trying to concentrate their main efforts

 in the direction of Bakhmut and are not abandoning their attempts to surround and capture the city.

The Armed Forces emphasize that

 they were able to stabilize the situation in the Bakhmut area

.

At the same time, heavy fighting continues in the Lymansk-Kupyansk direction.

According to the consultant of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security and Defense Ivan Stupak, 

Bakhmut and Avdiyivka are key cities

chosen by the Russian army.

They will become the enemy's "number one prospect" in the coming weeks.
