Ma Ying-jeou said that after leaving office, he served as a chair professor at Soochow University and attended classes with many mainland and Taiwanese students, which made him realize that cross-strait youth exchanges are a very worthwhile thing for Taiwan and mainland China. Ma Ying-jeou also said that polls in Taiwan in the past few days showed that 77% of the people affirmed that he would go to mainland China.
