[Reporter Huang Meizhu/Hsinchu Report] Who authorized the hunter surnamed Lin to shoot the East African baboons with a shotgun? Leofoo Village Theme Park just issued a 3-point statement, emphasizing that it will sue the hunter surnamed Lin for false accusations.

Leofoo Village just issued a statement saying that regarding the case of Baboon B, Leofoo Village not only fully cooperates with the police investigation, but also makes the following statement regarding the existing false accusations and information:

1. Since Leofoo Village received the escape incident of baboons, it has fully assisted the Taoyuan Bureau of Agriculture in arresting them. Yesterday, Lu Jiye, a special committee member of the Bureau of Agriculture, explained that after catching (capturing) baboons, they were found to be in poor condition, and they urgently consulted the veterinarian of Leofoo Village to bring them back. Leofoo Village assisted in the first aid, but some media claimed that the park forcibly took them away.

2. Leofoo Village has always adhered to the principle of animal conservation. Leofoo Village also carries professional anesthesia equipment and veterinarians to ensure the safety of animal hunting. The hunting area is under the jurisdiction of Taoyuan City. Therefore, it is unclear which unit arranged for hunters to join the hunt across regions with shotguns.

3. In response to the hunter’s claim that the shots were fired with the authorization and consent of the Leofoo Village employees, Leofoo Village solemnly declares that the Leofoo Village colleagues only entered the hiding area of the baboons after hearing the gunshots at the scene, and there was no statement from the colleagues that they agreed to shoot the hunters. In order to protect employees and defend the reputation of Leofoo Village in protecting animals, Leofoo Village will file legal complaints against hunters.
