[Reporter Wu Liangyi/Taipei Report] The Food and Drug Administration announced today a border food inspection. A batch of American fresh oranges imported by Costco, a US-style store, were found to have the pesticide "Pergone A3", reaching 0.03ppm. In addition, three batches were exported from Japan. The strawberries in the country were also found to have exceeded the standard of pesticides. A batch of "Kumamon" strawberries weighing 389 kg was found to be a pesticide called "Sipaimi", which cannot be used in strawberries.

The number of violations of Japanese strawberries detected this week is particularly large. In response to the end of the strawberry season, many manufacturers rushed to import a large number of strawberries at the end. It is banned in our country, so almost all of them were detected as violations.

The Food and Drug Administration continued to open the import of Japanese strawberries on the grounds that "the proportion of violations has decreased", and maintained batch-by-batch inspections. The Japan Exchange Association also proposed to my country to relax the pesticide residue standards, but my country has not yet agreed.

Today, three batches of Japanese strawberry violations were announced. They were produced by Shangjia Fruit Company and Chuanyong Fruit Company. The three batches totaled 1615 kilograms, which is quite large.

In addition to fresh strawberries, a batch of squid exported from Japan was found to contain 3 mg/kg of heavy metal cadmium, three times the standard.

All these violating products must be destroyed or returned.

In addition, today, a batch of "ABC Special Chili Sauce" exported from Indonesia contained non-compliant bleaching agents, "Fresh Grapes" exported from India contained substandard pesticide residues, and "Xuanxuan Oolong Noodles 500 grams" exported from Myanmar contained non-compliant preservatives.
