The zoo in the city of Oakland, California, managed to bring back five of six escaped birds, AP reported.

The animal enclosure was damaged after a tree fell on it during a storm.

According to social media posts by the zoo, a white crow named Deauville was captured on Saturday after a local resident spotted the distinctive black and white bird in his yard.

Zookeepers lured the bird into the home in whose yard it was found and quickly closed the door behind it.

According to the zoo, only one of the escapees is still missing - another white crow called Diego.

The two white crows, three magnificent starlings and a hooded vulture named Oliver escaped from the San Francisco Bay Zoo on March 21 when a falling tree tore through the mesh covering of the African savannah bird aviary.

The starlings did not stray far from the aviary and were soon returned.

The hooded vulture spent three days in the trees on the grounds of the zoo.

Then, with the help of treats, he was lured into the flamingo enclosure, where he was caught by zoo officials, BTA adds.
