France recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

This historic vote of the parliament took place on March 28.



This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

"Recognition by the French parliament of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people is important and significant," Zelenskyy said.

The President expressed gratitude for France's strong contribution to exposing the crimes of the aggressor Russia, both past and present.

Following Zelenskyi, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, also thanked France.

"I am grateful to France for recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-33 as a genocide of Ukrainians and for honoring the memory of the victims of Stalin and his regime. With this historic vote, the National Assembly has made it clear that such crimes will never be forgotten and must never be repeated.", - wrote Kuleba.
