A magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred off the coast of Aomori Prefecture in Japan at night, with a maximum magnitude of 4. Fortunately, no tsunami was triggered.

[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] An earthquake with a scale of 6.1 on the Richter scale occurred at 6:18 p.m. local time today (28th) in the east coast of Aomori Prefecture, Japan (5:18 p.m. Taiwan time). The largest earthquake in Hokkaido and Aomori Prefecture was 4. Fortunately, The Meteorological Agency pointed out that the earthquake did not trigger a tsunami.

The Japan Meteorological Agency stated that the earthquake occurred at 41.1 degrees north latitude and 142.8 degrees east longitude. The epicenter was located off the coast of Aomori Prefecture. The depth of the earthquake was 20 kilometers, and the Richter scale reached 6.1.

In terms of earthquake intensity, Hakodate City in Hokkaido reached 4, Aomori Prefecture, Akita Prefecture, Iwate Prefecture, and Fukushima Prefecture reached earthquake intensity 2, and Saitama and Ibaraki earthquake intensity 1.
