In April of this year, 125,000 tons of Kazakh oil produced from the Tengiz field will be transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

"APA-Economics" informs about this with reference to Kazakhstan's "KazTransOil" company (the national operator of Kazakhstan's main oil pipeline).

According to information, "KazTransOil" (included in the "KazMunayGaz" state company group) loaded 9,959 tons of oil on the "President Heydar Aliyev" tanker for further delivery of raw materials from the "Tengiz" field of Kazakhstan to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline in Aktau port.

"It is planned to send another 10,000 tons of Tengiz oil through this route until the end of March.

The volume of oil transportation planned for April 2023 in the direction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan is 125 thousand tons," the information states.

It should be noted that transportation of Kazakh oil by BTC is 1.5 mln. per year between SOCAR and "KazMunayGaz" company.

is carried out within the framework of the agreement providing for the transit of tons of oil.

By the end of 2023, it is planned to carry out 12-14 tanker flights per month through the Caspian Sea.

In 2022, SOCAR has implemented important projects in the direction of renewing the network of gathering pipelines in the Sangachal terminal area in order to accept Kazakh oil to BTC.

These projects have increased BTC's transmission capacity utilization.
