At a secret party in Moscow, Putin's spokesman Dmytro Peskov told the Kremlin elite that the war against Ukraine would last a long time.

This did not suit everyone present. 

The Guardian writes about this with reference to two Kremlin officials who were present at the celebration. 

At the end of December 2022, Peskov gathered a narrow circle of representatives of the Kremlin elite in his apartment.

They drank to mark the end of the year and toasted to peace and a return to normal life.

However, Peskov put an end to the optimism of the Kremlin elites, declaring that "the war is for a long time." 

"I suppose you expect me to say something. 

Everything will become much more complicated. 

It will take a very, very long time," Peskov said. 

Such a statement allegedly irritated many present, who hoped for the end of the war against Ukraine.

It was clear that he warned that the war will remain with us, and we must prepare for the long term," an anonymous Kremlin source told the publication. 

British journalists believe that Putin is preparing the Russian population for an "endless war" against Ukraine. 

We will remind, political technologist, writer and publicist Mykhailo Sheitelman believes that Putin will never agree to peace negotiations with Ukraine.
