[Reporter Wu Shengru/Report from Keelung] The Keelung City Fire Department received a report at 11:10 am today that a car caught fire on the road shoulder 2.6 kilometers east of Taiwan Highway 62 (Wanrui Expressway).

The Fire Department immediately dispatched firefighters to rescue the car, but when they arrived, the body of the Mercedes-Benz was completely burned, and the fire was extinguished by wiring and jetting water.

Fortunately, the driver and passengers in the vehicle escaped in time when the vehicle caught fire and were not injured. The cause of the fire is yet to be clarified.

After receiving the report, the fire department dispatched teams from Anle and Baifu. When they arrived, they found a white Mercedes sedan parked on the shoulder of the road, surrounded by flames and emitting black smoke.

In the end, the car body was burned down to only the brackets, but fortunately no one was injured.

The staff of the fire investigation department have gone to the scene to collect evidence to clarify the cause of the vehicle fire

By the time firefighters put out the fire, the vehicle was beyond recognition.
