The district police have arrested three people including the accused and the tantrik in the case of sacrificing his 10-year-old cousin brother on the advice of a tantrik with the desire to cure his sick child.
Police told on Sunday that the incident is of Nanpara Kotwali area of the district.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Prashant Verma told reporters today that Vivek (10), son of Krishna Verma, a resident of Parsa village, studying in class IV, went missing from home on Thursday night and his body was found in his own field late at night.
He told that the child's throat was slit, there were marks of T on his head and an attempt was made to hide the dead body by pressing it under the soil.
The SP said that during the investigation, it was found that the two-and-a-half-year-old child of the deceased Vivek's cousin Anoop was mentally ill and if the doctors did not get success in the treatment, he went to Jagannathpur resident Tantrik Jangli for the treatment of the child. fell into
The police officer said that the tantrik instigated Anoop to perform a human sacrifice so that his child would be cured.
He said, under this pretext, Anoop along with his uncle Chintaram killed Vivek (10) by slitting his throat with a shovel on the intervening night of Thursday/Friday.
He told that after the murder, the uncle-nephew buried the dead body in the field with the aim of hiding it.
On Saturday, the police arrested the accused and recovered the ala-e-murder shovel hidden in a nearby field on their tip.
The Superintendent of Police said that after registering a case under various sections of the Indian Ind Code, the accused Anoop, Chintaram and Tantrik Jangli were arrested and sent to jail after completing the legal process.
