Big strategy meeting held at Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's office

New Delhi:

Trinamool's sudden entry today in Congress's "black" protest against Rahul Gandhi surprised everyone.

It is considered one of the rare achievements of opposition unity, as the Trinamool Congress had said that it would maintain an equal distance from the BJP and the Congress.

Today, a major strategy meeting was held at Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's office, in which TMC was represented by Prasun Banerjee and Jawahar Sarkar.

It is being told that in this meeting, the strategy of the opposition on the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Parliament was discussed.

The party said the opposition should unite, even as they are distancing themselves from a united front on other issues.

Congress MPs wore black clothes to protest against Rahul Gandhi's disqualification.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi, led by K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Congress rival in Telangana, joined the "black cloth" protest with the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray).

After Rahul Gandhi's "not Savarkar" jibe at the BJP over his demand for an apology, Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday warned him that downplaying Savarkar would create a "rift" in the opposition alliance.

17 opposition parties- INC, DMK, SP, JDU, BRS, CPM, RJD, NCP, CPI, IUML, MDMK, KC, TMC, RSP, AAP, J&K NC and Shiv Sena (UBT) participated in the meeting.
