50,491 items, most of which were textiles with trademark signs, were detained by the customs officers of the Kapitan Andreevo MP, reports the Customs Agency

The goods, which were seized on suspicion of infringing intellectual property rights, were found during inspections of four trucks entering the country from Turkey.

In one of the cases, on 14.03.2023, a truck with Turkish registration arrived at the checkpoint.

The driver, a Turkish citizen, presents regular documents for the transported goods from Turkey to the Czech Republic.

The truck was selected for a thorough customs check, during which the customs officials found among the declared goods 34,546 textile products, most of them women's and men's T-shirts and sports outfits, 4386 pairs of shoes and 57 bags bearing the logos of famous brands.  

In another truck on 16.03.2023, the customs officials again discovered among the declared goods 6180 textile products branded with figurative and verbal images of known measures.

The truck with Polish registration was driven by a Bulgarian citizen who was transporting goods from Turkey to Poland.

In 2023, during a thorough customs inspection among the declared goods transported from Turkey to Germany, customs officials found a total of 5,322 garments with the designations of world-famous brands.

The goods were not declared, i.e.

they did not appear in the cargo documents and are practically contraband.

Acts under the Law on Customs have been drawn up for the guides - Turkish citizens.

Pursuant to Regulation 608/2013, the owners of the respective trademarks have been notified of the cases, to decide whether the detained declared and undeclared goods infringe the intellectual rights of the respective trademarks. 

From the beginning of the year until now, the customs officers of the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing have seized more than 320,000 items with signs of registered trademarks.
