Bakhmut and Avdiivka are key cities chosen by the Russian army.

They will become the enemy's "number one prospect" in the coming weeks.

This opinion was expressed by Ivan Stupak, an employee of the SBU (2004-2015), a consultant to the Committee on National Security and Defense of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during a telethon on Monday, March 27.

As for Bakhmut, he very cautiously says that the situation is changing for the better for Ukraine.

"The Russians are moving in the direction of Bakhmut. If you look at the map, they have chosen

two key points that are a priority for them - Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

They are even similar in terms of situation. These cities are close to their surroundings in terms of situation, the Russians are doing everything for this. But we are very cautious about the fact that such a plateau is emerging, at least

in Bakhmut - the Russians can no longer move as actively as they did a month ago, but they are not retreating yet

. That is, the forces are really running out, but to talk about it you have to be careful, because, indeed, there may be both reserves and additional mobilized somewhere. I think that the Russians have redirected their efforts to Avdiivka, they are also succeeding there somewhat. These two cities will be their number one prospect in the coming weeks," he said he.

It will be recalled that the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, said that "the most intense phase of the battles for Bakhmut

is currently underway  ."

Despite significant losses in human resources, weapons and military equipment, the occupiers continue to conduct offensive actions.
