The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) gave a positive opinion, but with reservations, to the draft amendments to the Law on the Judiciary, which is related to e-justice, prepared by the Ministry of Justice.

It envisages optimizing the work and efficiency of the judicial system with the process of introducing e-justice, as well as facilitating access to justice.

The project prescribes the execution of certain procedural actions in cases in electronic form.

As well as by March 1, 2024, the SJC should provide the necessary technical conditions and means to the bodies of the judiciary, which on your part should ensure that citizens have access to their electronic files in their premises.

The SJC elected Biserka Stoyanova as a national representative in Eurojust

The opinion of the SJC is that there are provisions in the project that need editing.

From there, they indicate that it is impossible to meet the deadline for providing technical conditions by March 1, as this will be related to the conduct of public procurement, which requires time and financial resources, which are not provided for in the budget of the judiciary for the current year.

Council member Boyan Novanski commented that he had the feeling that the bill was "written by people who do not understand anything and have no idea about the electronic systems" of the judiciary, BTA reported.
