[Reporter Chen Jianzhi/Taichung Report] With the eastward movement of the cloud and rain area in South China, it rained in Miaoli and Taichung on March 25 and 26. However, due to the low rainfall, the Liyutan Reservoir that supplies Miaoli, Taichung and Changhua only fell 17 mm in two days Due to the continuous daily water supply of 540,000 tons, the water storage rate fell below 40% at 9:00 p.m. The water consumption is lower than the 5-year average, and the public must conserve water.

Zhong Qingyuan, director of the Liyutan Reservoir Management Center, said that in the past two days, the Liyutan Reservoir and the upper catchment area have received a total of about 17 millimeters of rainfall. Due to the small amount of rainfall and the fact that it has not rained for a long time, most of the rainwater has been absorbed by the soil. Only about 50,000 tons of water has been taken in, and it is estimated that about 400,000 tons will be taken in later.

Zhong Qingyuan said that due to the current daily supply of about 540,000 tons of water for people's livelihood, the rainfall in the reservoir is not enough for one day's water output, and the water level of the reservoir continues to drop under the "sufficiency". 40%.

Zhong Qingyuan said that this year there has been a long drought and no rain, and the spring rain is also relatively small. At present, we can only hope that the rainy season will bring more abundant rainfall, because the current storage capacity of the reservoir is lower than the five-year average, and the public must save water.
