KNSB insists on a minimum wage of BGN 850 and a 10% wage increase in the budget sector from July 1.

The union calculates that the accumulated inflation for the last 2 years is over 28%.

That is why they want BGN 248 million to be set aside in the 2023 Budget to compensate for inflation in the ministries.

In addition, the trade union calculates that BGN 524 million is needed to maintain the average salary of teachers at 125% of the national average remuneration stipulated in the Collective Agreement.

"Our demands for the 2023 budget are with these clarifications - from April 1st, compensation for the undercompensated inflation of all those paid by the government. From January 1st, the appropriate funds so that teachers can receive 125% of the national average and maintain it until the end of the year according to the mechanisms agreed in the Collective Labor Agreement and promised by almost all political parties to the teachers and July 1 - 10% compensation of the estimated inflation by the end of the year - a total of BGN 1.3 billion is needed," said the president of KNSB Plamen Dimitrov

Plamen Dimitrov is the president of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (KNSB).
