In the Chernivtsi region, a businessman who impersonated a border guard in order to help evaders to leave the country was detained.

He charged $6,000 for his "services".

This is reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the investigation, a resident of Bukovyna posed as a border guard and agreed to take two evaders abroad with $6,000.

Together with an accomplice, the man took the evaders to the borders of the state border and instructed them on what to do next.

As a cover, the man used a uniform with identification marks of the DPS.

The man was informed of suspicion for organizing the illegal transportation of conscripts across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It will be recalled that the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicions to an employee of a law enforcement agency from Chernivtsi who organized an illegal scheme for conscripts to go abroad, as well as to an employee of the Chernivtsi District Military Committee.
