Viktoriya Kokhanovska, a member of the UOC MP, who calls herself a human rights defender, threatened the authorities that believers of the Moscow Patriarchate will go to the streets "in a procession" in response to the eviction of their denomination from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
Kokhanovska said this in a commentary on Channel 5.
"Be afraid! Because only their (the hierarchs of the UOC MP. - Ed.) one word blessing us and we leave! We leave with the icons and go in the procession," said a believer of the Moscow Patriarchate.
She stated that in Ukraine, citizens are allegedly being persecuted for their religious beliefs
"I am a human rights defender, I am a lawyer and I am a parishioner of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is the persecution of citizens of Ukraine, it is connected because of my religious beliefs. And I believe, professed and will continue to profess. I was baptized in the Orthodox faith, I am in the Orthodox and are singing," said Viktoriya Kokhanovska.
As the woman herself reported on Facebook, during the last liturgy of the UOC MP in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, an employee of the SBU allegedly tried to hand over the suspect.
However, the emotional believer caused a scandal, and the law enforcement officer was forced to leave.
The SBU did not comment on this information.
As a reminder, by March 29, the priests of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate must vacate all the buildings of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and hand over the property to the state.
Today, representatives of the UOC MP are actively removing things from the Lavra - even tables, chairs and water heaters.
It is not yet known whether they will take away the toilets.
