Women who left Ukraine for Europe because of the war risk facing a wave of "sexualized violence".

The threat is discussed in a study by the Thomson Reuters company, carried out by experts jointly with the OSCE, writes The Guardian.

They chose global search traffic between February 24, 2022.

Observations revealed that among European Internet users, interest in pornographic materials involving or on the topic of Ukrainian refugees has significantly increased.

Thomson Reuters believes that the consequence of the growing interest in "Ukrainian porn" may be an increase in the number of cases of cyber voyeurism - a new type of crime - video surveillance caused by a passion for spying on strangers in intimate moments - on Ukrainian women and, as well as sexual exploitation of women from of Ukraine.

"The high demand from men for sexual access to Ukrainian women and girls creates a huge incentive for traffickers to recruit vulnerable people in order to satisfy this demand and profit from it," said OSCE Special Representative Valiant Ritchie.

He claims that researchers have already discovered cases where offers to work in the "sex industry" appeared in chat rooms of Ukrainian refugees.

The researchers also noticed that the scale of online advertisements for sex services allegedly provided by Ukrainian women has increased.
