Military expert Roman Svitan believes that the American Abrams tanks will most likely not be delivered to

Ukraine

before the start of a full-scale counteroffensive of the Armed Forces.

"They will come at the height of the offensive when we are about to enter the Crimea."

Svitan expressed this opinion during a broadcast with TV presenter Oleksiy Likhman.

Commenting on the statement of the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, about the readiness to remove the Abrams from its arsenal and transfer it to Ukraine, without waiting for new production, the expert emphasized: Washington will transfer the tanks in an earlier modification, not in the second one.

According to Svitan, this is a more profitable option for Ukraine.

After all, there are many tanks of the old Abrams modification in service with the United States.

In terms of their capabilities, they do not globally differ from the modern version

"Since we need Abrams already "yesterday", and they will only be given "tomorrow", this is the best option," he emphasized.

After receiving military aid, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to cross the state border of Ukraine at the expense of one movement: "We are given a sufficient amount of forces and means so that we can cross the state border of Ukraine with one blow, one attack."

It will be recalled that the USA announced that

it would provide Ukraine with Abrams M1A1 main battle tanks

.

This is the basic version of the tank, older than the M1A2.

The weapons will be delivered by the fall of 2023.
