The head of the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Ukraine's Zaporizhia nuclear power plant next week to assess the serious security situation there, Reuters reported, citing the agency.

In a statement, Rafael Grossi said the threats to nuclear safety and security at the Russian-controlled plant were "all too obvious."

This will be Grossi's second visit to headquarters.

The IAEA was concerned by the recent explosions around the Zaporozhye NPP

The head of the Vienna-based IAEA stated that the situation remains "uncertain" despite the presence of agency experts at the headquarters, BTA reported.

I remain determined to continue doing everything in my power to help reduce the risk of a nuclear incident during the tragic war in Ukraine, Grossi added.
