The Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated the commander of the 1st Battalion of the 247th Airborne Assault Regiment, the "hero of Russia" Dmytro Lysytskyi.

It was he who was involved in the Ilovai tragedy in 2014.

The Russian occupier was liquidated on March 26.

He was the commander of the 1st battalion of the 247th Airborne Assault Regiment. 

"Lysytskyi commanded the battalion tactical group of the 247th regiment, which attacked Ukrainian units breaking through from the encirclement in Ilovaisk in the area of ​​the village of Horbatenko. For the war in Ukraine in January 2015, Lysitskyy was awarded the title of "Hero of Russia". 247th Regiment will suffer heavy losses during the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the elimination of Lysytskyi will seriously weaken the combat capability of the regiment," Butusov said. 

The Ilovai tragedy of 2014

The Russian military shelled the corridor through which the Ukrainian fighters were supposed to exit according to the agreement. 

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, 

on the night of August 24, 2014, the largest direct invasion of the armed forces of the aggressor country took place on the territory of Ukraine and their subsequent commission of war crimes.

 At that time, the forces of the Russian Armed Forces consisted of nine battalion-tactical groups: 3,500 personnel, up to 60 tanks, up to 320 BMD (BMP), up to 60 guns, up to 45 mortars and 5 anti-tank missile systems.

On August 29, Russian servicemen fired at close range with heavy weapons on a convoy of Ukrainian soldiers.

The soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were killed by the occupiers without providing medical aid. 

Then the Russians killed 366 Ukrainian soldiers, 429 were wounded of varying degrees of severity, and 300 were captured.
