Prime Minister Narendra Modi told on Sunday that in the last 10 years, the number of organ donors has increased three times.

In the 99th edition of "Mann Ki Baat" program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that awareness about organ donation is increasing in the country and the number of organ donors has increased three times in the last 10 years.

Sharing his thoughts in All India Radio's monthly radio program "Mann Ki Baat", Modi appealed to the countrymen to come forward for organ donation in maximum numbers.

He said that people who They wait for organ donation, they know how difficult it is to pass every single moment of waiting, and in such a situation, when an organ donor or body donor is found, then only the form of God is seen in him.

He said, “Today there are a large number of needy people in our country who are waiting for an organ donor in the hope of a healthy life.

For this reason, it has also been decided to remove the domicile condition of the states, that is, now the patient will be able to go to any state of the country and register for receiving the organ.

The Prime Minister said that in this era of modern medical science, organ donation has become a very important means of giving life to someone, because when a person donates his body after death, it helps 8 to 9 people. There is a possibility of getting a new life.

He said, "Today awareness about organ donation is increasing in the country.

In the year 2013, there were less than five thousand cases of organ donation in our country, but in 2022 this number has increased to more than 15 thousand.

The people who donated organs, their families, have really done a very virtuous work. The Prime Minister said that this association of our and your Mann Ki Baat has reached its 99th position.
