Turkey will be ready to review Sweden's

application

to join NATO after June 1.

Then anti-terrorist laws will enter into force in the country.

This was stated by Ibrahim Kalin, adviser to the Turkish president on foreign policy, NTV reports.

"From our point of view, there are no obstacles to Finland's membership in NATO. Finland has always been constructive," the politician emphasized.

According to him, Finland has taken a more transparent and constructive position regarding Istanbul's demands.

As a result of the Turkish assessment of the country, it was deemed appropriate to approve Helsinki's application for joining the Alliance.

"The door is not completely closed for Sweden. Sweden's counter-terrorism law will come into force on June 1. When they complete it, we will evaluate the process when we see that steps have been taken to solve our security problems. We are not opposed to the expansion of NATO in principles," says President Erdogan's adviser.

It will be recalled that 28 countries have already ratified the protocols on the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO.
