Germany and the EU have agreed on carbon-neutral fuel for internal combustion engines (ICE) in cars produced after 2035.

APA informs that rbc.ru reported on this with reference to the statement of the Minister of Transport of Germany, Volker Wissing, and the representative of the European Commission on the Green Pact for Europe, Franz Timmermans.

"We reached an agreement with Germany on the future use of fuel in cars," Timmermans said.

According to him, now work will be started on approval of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emission standards for cars.

Vissing said that ICE cars can only be re-registered after 2035 if they use CO₂ neutral fuel.
