The International Organization for the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) condemned the statement of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin about the intention to deploy tactical

nuclear weapons

on the territory of Belarus.

The organization emphasized that Europe will remain in danger as long as Russia has such weapons, writes

The Guardian

.

Acting Director of ICAN Danije Hegsta said that countries should consider nuclear weapons as a global threat.

Hegsta said Russian dictator Vladimir Putin continues to threaten to use nuclear weapons, citing decades of shared NATO nuclear weapons.

In addition, the Russian dictator will avoid punishment for such rhetoric as long as countries do not consider nuclear weapons as a global threat.

"As long as President Putin has nuclear weapons, Europe cannot be safe. He justifies this dangerous escalation by citing decades of shared NATO nuclear weapons. As long as countries continue to view nuclear weapons as something other than a global problem, it helps Putin avoid punishment for similar behavior," said Daniel Hegsta.

It will be recalled that earlier the analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated that the dictator of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin

intended to place Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus even before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine

.

In addition, we previously reported that a senior administration official noted that Russia and Belarus have been discussing such a deal for the past year and said there is no

indication that Moscow plans to use its nuclear weapons
