For more than a year of the full-scale war in Ukraine, men of draft age have been trying to cross the border illegally.

According to Andrii Demchenko, the spokesman of the Border Service, the male fugitives will be returned to Ukraine.

The State Border Guard Service actively cooperates with EU countries and Moldova, so fugitives will be brought to justice in any case.

With the introduction of martial law, when there were restrictions on leaving the country for men of conscription age, the number of citizens trying to cross the border illegally increased significantly.

Even if the men manage to leave Ukraine, they cannot settle in Europe in the future, they cannot be "refugees".

Runaway violators will be returned to Ukraine.

Many of the male fugitives are trying to apply for refugee status, but, according to the DPSU spokesman, they have no grounds for this.

That is why Andriy Demchenko urged both those who are fleeing and those who organize escapes to refrain from this in the future.
