"It is not excluded that a serious change in the mood of the voters will happen".

Sociologist from "Market Links" Dobromir Zhivkov began his analysis before the BNR with this forecast.

He added that based on sociological surveys, it can be assumed that about 10-15% of voters will make their decision and turn to certain political forces in the last days before the vote itself.

There is both fatigue and oversaturation among people from five consecutive campaigns for early parliamentary elections, the sociologist believes.

"It seems that society is becoming politicized. We have objective data for this, measured by the declared readiness to vote in the upcoming elections, which has been increasing in recent months, especially between January and February. We will have to see about March, just before the elections. People are opening their ears again are about the political campaign. These are people who are thinking about where the country should go, what their choices should be. They don't make particularly rational decisions, but there is repoliticization in society, even in this campaign, even though it is the fifth in a row in two years. They are interested and enter into the political topics that are offered to them," commented Dobromir Zhivkov.

According to Associate Professor Petar Cholakov from the Institute of Sociology and Philosophy of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, people always act emotionally, then find rational arguments to justify their decision.

"I am pessimistic that people make the cause-and-effect relationship, that things in the country are happening thanks to them, and that's why they go to vote. People are also very tired of the fact that we are going to the fifth election in two years. And it's coming up in a week another hoe we will step on".

He hypothesized that in order for the vote on April 2 to have different results from those of the previous elections, either "the current players should suddenly become very handsome and present some incredible messages and new theses to us, or great scandals should befall them , or for some new charismatics to appear. The same thing is offered to us. We know what the definition of insanity is - you do the same thing, but expect a different result," Cholakov added.

According to Dobromir Zhivkov, the society has not yet decided whether to "move forward, more progressively" or "to return to stability", which are the proposals given by the two major political formations fighting for first place in the early parliamentary elections.

"Therefore, we will have more elections. It is speculative whether they will be two in one with the local ones in the fall, or together with the European elections next year. The vote on April 2nd will be another interim result that will measure which of the two currents in Bulgarian society begins to gain some advantage".

Associate Professor Petar Cholakov emphasized that the bought and controlled vote is important.

"Vote trading will have an impact especially when there is a photo finish, when the results between first and second are very close. Regarding the paper ballot, vote traders already have expertise and developed practices."

Russia's war in Ukraine is a topic that mobilizes and remains extremely key, analysts commented.
