On March 25, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, writes Hurriyet.

"As it became known, during the telephone conversation, the leaders discussed steps to improve Turkish-Russian relations and the development of events in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian war," the message reads.

It is indicated that the parties also discussed a "grain agreement".

During the conversation, Erdogan "thanked Putin for his positive attitude towards the continuation of the Black Sea initiative."

"Erdogan said that Turkey attaches great importance to the fastest ending of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine through negotiations," Turkish media reported.

In the Kremlin, based on the results of the conversation, they talked about the presidents' discussion of the grain agreement, assistance to Turkey after the earthquakes, trade and economic ties between Russia and Turkey, and the "normalization of Turkish-Syrian relations."

The war of Russia against Ukraine is not mentioned in the message of the Kremlin.

On March 14, Turkey, which is a participant in the negotiations, said that Russia had agreed to support a 60-day extension of the grain agreement.

At the same time, according to Ankara, negotiations on the continuation of the agreement are still ongoing.

Ukraine says that Russia violates the deadlines established in the agreement on the transportation of Ukrainian grain, when it declares a deadline of 60 days.

According to the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Alexander Kubrakov, the agreement on the Black Sea Grain Initiative provides for an extension of at least 120 days.
