Lieutenant General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in reserve, military expert Ihor Romanenko explained that the Russian army decided to refocus on Avdiivka, because they have "stronger logistical support" there, and powerful Ukrainian efforts are concentrated around Bakhmut.

Romanenko expressed this opinion for Channel 24.

"It is necessary to take some actions, to achieve results, at least in some direction," Romanenko claims.

Also, the occupiers realized that in the Avdiiv direction they have better opportunities

not only for artillery strikes, but also for air strikes.

According to Romanenko, there should be a whole infrastructure that would ensure the operation of flying machines - both manned and unmanned.

"This is

not fundamentally strategic, but the best possible direction.

They are guided by the proverbs: "If not in the head, then in the head" and "It will pass, but we will achieve it". This is not good for them," the military expert believes. .

Although the situation around Avdiyvka really got complicated.

Fierce battles are ongoing, but he is sure that

Ukrainian forces "will continue to carry out combat actions of a defensive nature."

It will be recalled that, according to British intelligence, the Russian offensive near Bakhmut is slowing down because, according to their data, the Russian command was forced to transfer several of its units from there to other directions.
