The European Union supports the talks between the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, and insists on such a dialogue.
The Financial Times writes about it.
Citing a European official, the publication reports that the bloc wants Xi to hold a conversation with Zelensky in the same way he spoke with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
"We consider it positive that China is at least participating... We insist, and have insisted before, that they do it in both directions — both with Russia and with Ukraine," the official said.
It will be recalled that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi previously stated that he did not receive proposals for negotiations with the Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
In addition, Chinese leader Xi Jinping ignored US President Joe Biden's request for a phone call.
