[Reporter Li Rongping/Taoyuan Report] The front has passed, and the peach and bamboo seedlings are thundering in the sea. The Water Resources Bureau of the North District of the Water Resources Department seized the opportunity and cooperated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences today (25th) to carry out high-altitude artificial cultivation at the Shimen Reservoir nursery at 1:25 p.m. This is the first artificial rainfall enhancement in Shimen Reservoir this year. According to the evaluation of the North Water Bureau, it is expected to increase the chance of rainfall by 5% to 10%.

The Shimen Reservoir was still full at the beginning of this year, but as of 4:00 pm today, the water level of the dam was 232.1 meters (245 meters full), and the water storage capacity was 109.02 million tons. The water storage rate was only halfway to 53.11%.

Guo Yaocheng, deputy director of the Beishui Bureau, said that in addition to high-altitude rain-enhancing flame bombs, Shimen and Baoer Reservoirs also released artificial rain-enhancing flame bombs from 5 pm to 8 pm. Water districts bring more rainfall.

Although the probability of rainfall has increased, the future climate is still uncertain. The North Water Bureau calls on everyone to save water together to successfully weather the current drought.
