Journalists managed to find out on the basis of which the pro-Russian blogger Ruslan Kotsaba was released from Ukraine to the USA.

This was reported by the anti-corruption publication "Our Money".

As the publication writes, Kotsab, accused of treason, was able to leave Ukraine thanks to his mother.

After all, as evidenced by the medical documents provided by Kotsaba while crossing the border, the numbers of which were at the disposal of journalists, the pro-Russian blogger was able to leave Ukraine on the basis that he was

accompanying his disabled mother

.

It is worth noting that 56-year-old Ruslan Kotsaba crossed the Ukrainian border with Slovakia on August 24 last year through the checkpoint in "Maly Berezny" in Transcarpathia, despite the fact that Ukrainian men under the age of 60 are prohibited from leaving the country during martial law.

Kotsaba is currently in the United States under the United for Ukraine program, which was introduced to help Ukrainian refugees.

He intends to apply for political refugee status there.

At the same time, in the States, the blogger continues to spread pro-Russian narratives.

We will remind, on February 8, 2015, Ruslan Kotsaba was detained on suspicion of treason and espionage.

He actively opposed the mobilization, and on May 12, 2016, the Ivano-Frankivsk City Court sentenced Kotsaba to 3.5 years in prison, finding him guilty of obstructing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but acquitting him of treason.

On July 14, 2016, the Court of Appeal of the Ivano-Frankivsk region acquitted Kotsaba, and he was released.

At the same time, after his release, Ruslan Kotsaba repeatedly participated in pro-Russian actions.

On June 7, 2018, the Supreme Specialized Court of Ukraine overturned the acquittal of Kotsabi, which was previously passed by the appeals court of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, and ordered a new trial in the appeals court.

On December 7, 2021, the court in Kolomyia resumed consideration of the case of journalist Ruslan Kotsaba, accused of treason.
