Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar called on Ukrainian citizens and experts not to discuss the details of the upcoming
counteroffensive
of the Ukrainian military in order not to interfere with the Armed Forces.
She wrote about it in Telegram.
"It's good that no one in the public discussed the counteroffensive in Kharkiv Oblast before it began. And the combat zone was completely closed for access by anyone except the military. Then the most successful operation during the full-scale invasion in terms of the intensity of the liberation of our territories was implemented. Silence allowed the military to gain time and do their work," Hanna Malyar recalled.
The Deputy Minister of Defense emphasized that
three persons have the right to publicize strategic military plans and ideas - the Supreme Commander (President), the Minister of Defense, and the Commander-in-Chief.
"All the others are just quoting. You don't need to ask questions to experts on the air - but what about a counteroffensive, you don't need to write blogs and posts on this topic, you don't need to publicly discuss the military plans of our army. We have one strategic plan - to release all our territories. And the details are already a military secret. They are made public by the three above-mentioned persons when there is such a military task. Because information is also a weapon and we also fight with it," summarized Hanna Malyar.
Ukraine's counteroffensive
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr
Zelenskyy, stated that the Ukrainian army cannot currently launch a counteroffensive, which was planned for the spring of 2023
.
For this, Ukraine needs additional weapons, in particular, ammunition and fighter jets.
Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War noted that
the large-scale spring "offensive" of Russian forces is reaching its climax, and therefore propaganda is beginning to prepare the Russians for a counteroffensive of the Armed Forces.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov emphasized that
Russia was late in mobilizing, Ukraine's counteroffensive will be much faster.
