[Reporter Liu Binquan/Report from Nantou] The water condition of Sun Moon Lake is tight, and the lake area has dropped 7 meters from the full water level. For this reason, the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area Management Office towed the floating row from the approach bridge of Xuanguang Wharf in the third stage today, and closed the approach bridge on the right. The docks in the area have gradually removed the floating rafts in response to the lowering of the water level. Although the docks still maintain boat services, the four major docks have closed three approach bridges, which also highlights the unfavorable water conditions.

According to the Japanese Management Office, there are four large wharfs in Tan District, Shuishe, Chaowu, Yidashao, and Xuanguang, each with 2 approach bridges and 4 floating boats. In order to avoid damage to the facilities, the floating row will be dragged away in stages according to the drop in water level to avoid grounding and breaking.

On the 8th and 16th of this month, the first and second phases of pre-warning floating platoon towing were launched, and one approach bridge at Chaowu Wharf and Ita Thao Wharf was closed, leaving only one approach bridge for boarding and disembarking. Today, the approach bridge at Xuanguang Wharf will be towed away. At the same time, the approach bridge on the right side is closed, and only another approach bridge is left for tourists to board and disembark. Up to now, 3 of the 4 major piers have closed 1 approach bridge, and only Shuishe Wharf is not affected by the drop in water level. The pier can still provide boat services, but tourists still need to pay attention to safety when walking on the steep approach bridge.
