The USA introduced new sanctions against the Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko.

The Boeing 737 plane, which belongs to the government of Belarus and is used as a presidential plane, came under the restrictions.

It is noted that the White House imposes sanctions in response to brutal repression against the pro-democracy movement and civil society. 

"These actions also emphasize the readiness of the United States to call the regime in Minsk to account for its complicity in the unjustified war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," the message reads.

US Deputy Treasury Secretary Brian Nelson said that Lukashenko is carrying out repressive actions against the Belarusian people. 

In particular, sanctions were introduced against:

  • Serhii Olegovich Nikiforovych - director of "BelAZ";

  • Valery Ivankovich Valery - director of "MAZ";

  • Ihor Vasylovich Karpenko, Olena Anatoliivna Baldovska, Denis Volodymyrovych Duk, Olena Konstantinova Kuntsevich, Oleksandr Gennadiyovych Tkachev, Kateryna Oleksandrova Fedosenko, Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Yuzhik are members of the Central Committee of Belarus.

Moreover, the USA imposed sanctions against the Central Committee of Belarus, the Belarusian Automobile Plant and the Minsk Automobile Plant. 

It will be recalled that EU leaders agreed to continue supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, as well as strengthen anti-Russian sanctions and continue to work on limiting the price of oil.
