An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale was registered in Iran, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center announced today, BTA reported, citing TASS.

According to the information, the epicenter of this earthquake was located 35 km south of the Iranian city of Khoi (population about 175 thousand people) and at a depth of 30 km.

No casualties or damage have been reported yet.
