The district prosecutor's office in Burgas handed over to court the three Syrian citizens who were detained after the bus accident in the seaside town last summer.

The impact killed two policemen who tried to stop the bus with their patrol car.

The trial is scheduled for April 19.

Several charges have been brought against the three men, the main one being the trafficking of migrants, said Maria Markova, head of the District Prosecutor's Office - Burgas, on the air of "Hello, Bulgaria".

The Syrian nationals will also be prosecuted for driving the bus with stolen license plates and for obstructing the police from carrying out their duties.

"In the course of the investigation, other persons were also identified, in relation to whom materials were separated.

The investigation continues for the persons whose identities and whereabouts have not yet been established", emphasized prosecutor Markova.

For the trafficking of migrants, the law provides imprisonment for a period of between 1 and 6 years and a fine of BGN 5,000 to 20,000. The case, in which the defendants will be tried for causing the death of the two uniformed men, is being monitored by the District Prosecutor's Office - Burgas.
