Senior Commissioner Petar Kotsin - director of the ODMVR-Vidin, presented up-to-date information on the operational situation in the region and the results of the actions taken by law enforcement officers to prevent crimes related to the violation of citizens' electoral rights. 

In the course of the talks, the minister emphasized the need for active prevention in the line of all police activity - conventional crime, drug distribution, domestic violence, conflicts between neighbors.

The Interior Minister and Deputy Minister Katinov visited the video surveillance center of the bridge facility near Vidin - Kalafat.

During the inspection of the "Danube Bridge-2" checkpoint, they got acquainted with the specifics of the work on the spot and talked with the Bulgarian and Romanian border policemen on duty.

Control - the crossing point works at full capacity, but the traffic remains intense, said Commissioner Dimitar Chorbadjiev - director of RDGP-Ruse and specified that about 1,400 cars pass through the point in the direction of Romania per day.

"It is absolutely unacceptable to pile up a kilometer-long line of trucks, it is a punishment for everyone," the minister was categorical and pointed to the need to create a joint working group with the Romanian side to achieve a lasting solution to the issue.

In search of a workable solution to ease heavy-duty traffic, Minister Demerdzhiev and the regional governor toured two nearby areas, which in the short term can be used to separate parking lots and ease the movement of heavy vehicles.

At the subsequent working meeting in the regional administration, the minister and the regional governor commented on current issues related to the organizational and technical preparation for the upcoming elections and specific actions to solve the issue of heavy goods traffic at the "Danube Bridge-2" checkpoint.
