Armenia and Turkey have agreed to open the border for citizens of third countries and persons with diplomatic passports until the beginning of the 2023 tourist season.

APA reports with reference to "armenpress" that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at the meeting of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament and added that Yerevan is actively working in this direction.

Presenting the report on the progress and results of the implementation of the government's plan, the minister said that the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey continued in 2022.

Mirzoyan recalled that on February 15, he went on a business trip to Turkey to express his condolences on the many casualties caused by the earthquake.

"We have once again confirmed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey that we are ready to open the Armenian-Turkish border for citizens of third countries and persons with diplomatic passports before the opening of this year's tourism season," Mirzoyan said.
