Fatih Erbakan, chairman of Turkey's New Prosperity Party, has withdrawn his candidacy for the May 14 presidential election.

According to APA's Istanbul correspondent, he said that he personally reached an agreement with the head of the country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Erbakan added that his party joins the Republic Union and the party members will vote for the single candidate Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the elections.
