The governor of the American state of Florida, as well as the likely main competitor of Donald Trump in the presidential elections from the Republican Party, Ron Desantis, has changed his

position

on the war in Ukraine.

This is reported by

CNN

.

The politician admitted that in an interview with the Fox News channel, when he stated that supporting Ukraine is not important for the United States and called the war a "territorial dispute", he spoke incorrectly and did not mean that Russia "can seize foreign territories and threaten NATO ".

Desantis said that all Ukrainian lands seized by Russia should be returned to Kyiv's control.

"If it was possible to change something with one wave of the hand, I would 100% return these territories to Ukraine," the governor of Florida said.

He also called Russian dictator Vladimir Putin a war criminal who should be prosecuted, adding that Russia would lose the war based on its results.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that the governor of the American state of Florida, Republican Ron Desantis, said that

the war in Ukraine is a "territorial dispute", and therefore it does not concern the United States

In turn, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleg Nikolenko, invited Desantis to Ukraine so that he could see for himself the war crimes of the Russians.

Later, several American Republican senators reacted critically to the words of their colleague from

Florida, Ron Desantis, that the war in Ukraine is a "territorial dispute"

.

US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin also commented on the statement of Republican Ron Desantis, noting that
